As I planned my Great Gatsby 21st birthday party, I couldn’t find the ‘perfect dress’ anywhere. My mother’s solution was simple: we’ll make it. It was here that she handed me the skills that her mother handed her, and her mother before that. From this point forward, I felt empowered to make whatever I could envision. 

As a performing singer-songwriter, it gave me the ability to design outfits for gigs, photoshoots, and music videos that aligned with exactly what I had in mind. Sometimes I worked from patterns, but often I created my own designs, tailoring each garment to its occasion.

Now, with over eight years of dressmaking experience, I’m stepping into a new chapter: allowing an unexpected passion to thrive in its own right, independent of music. Threaded Together honours this intergenerational legacy of making, weaving together creativity, eco-conscious practice, and community. It is both a nod to where I’ve come from and a vision for where we can go, towards a culture of mindful fashion, shared stories, and harmony with our beautiful planet.
